My days go something like this:
Wake up with the sun, between 5:30-7am
Drink water, wake the body up
Prepare breakfast: either oatmeal or an elaborate muffin mix
I'll usually sit or stand in meditation while that cooks
Make coffe; 1 mug a day to keep the love alive
Somewhere along the line I write my dreams
When breakfast is ready I sit at my desk with a book
Lately that's been:
-- Bodystories by Andrea Olsen;
-- Notes From a Dead House by Dostoevsky;
-- Meeting The Universe Halfway by Karen Barad;
-- Potential History, Unlearning Imperialism by Ariella Aisha Azoulay;
The choice depends on my mood.
Then from 8am till 10, 11, noon (depends), I sit and read and write
No tech, no internet. I have an oldschool iPod though.
Some mornings I'll run errands or go for a walk.
I stand up often to play around with tai chi and keep moving.
I find that motion helps me process thoughts.
I found this routine in the past month. It works well for me.
Once noontime rolls around, I get lunch ready.
This is when I turn my phone and computer on.
From here on out it's fair game for activities.
I'm establishing a course of study and optimizing my screentime.
Finding this space has helped me focus my computing already.
After breakfast and/or lunch I'll often meditate for an hour
while I digest. I find the stillness helps.
I am definitely still addicted to checking my email.
Thankfully I don't use social media much.
I'm on fedi too but don't check everyday.
The most fulfilling time online is time spent on VoiP with friends.
Blogging is fun too, and learning new tools.
I'm slowly turning my computer into a useful device.
Being 24 now, I grew up in internet zombie mode. Shedding that.
The idea of tuning into read-only or write-only modes appeals a lot.
Having 20 tabs or 8 applications running helps me accomplish nothing.
