mpv in pi - 2021-07-01

frustrated with volumio yet again - works after install then falls over after update - i reinstalled pios in a headless pi3B+ that has an iqaudio hat. i use mpv to continuously shuffle play flacs. the audio output goes to Ruark MR1Mk2.

mpv --vo=null --volume=80 --shuffle /media/usb0

--vo-null: stops mpv skipping some tracks with album art.
--volume=80: output is a little high at 100% so i take it down.
--shuffle: shuffles tracks.
/media/usb0: where the music is:-)

i can see why people use media player distros given the number of mpv options but for the moment i get what i want.

i've been sanitizing filenames in the music usb stick otherwise due to chars such as / in the filename mpv (and volumio before) skips tracks. why do rippers put silly chars in the filenames in the first place? i can pay more attention to filenames in the future.

other thing necessary was to strip out .m3u files that rippers had left in dirs: these had the nasty filenames in and players refer to them for filenames!!!
