now listening: Summer Long Gone - KRISTINE - Kristine

I have enough subs now that I should consider making gemsubs(1) use threads, because gemsrv has a 5s cgi timeout.

I was reading the mercury proposal, and I don't think it's something I'd use. Gemini strikes a good balance; minimal formatting and TLS protected; I think the gemtext format has all the minimum formatting stuff I'd really want to see. None of the Gemini clients I use seem to do a great job at handling preformatted blocks, though. I've linked to an example post that neither Lagrange or Castor handles well, instead treating the C #defines as headers, when they shouldn't be formatted at all.

Finished Tau Zero by Poul Anderson. It's an interesting sci-fi story written in a very 70's style, so readers who like Asimov or Clarke might enjoy it. I didn't think it was amazing, but it was worth reading.
