A solid entry in the aliens-land-in-Nigeria genre. The novel follows a psychic named Kaaro as he juggles personal relationships, his job as a government agent, his complicated past and his mysterious connection to the alien dome in the town of Rosewater. It jumps back and forth through Kaaro's timeline a lot, and you slowly come to understand where his power comes from and how his relationship to his power has evolved. I particularly enjoyed a moment where Kaaro's love interest Aminat tells him that he's not the main character in her own story, which seems like a clever way to humble our protagonist while setting up future installments of a trilogy I am now very excited to read.
