Honestly the worst part about those popups on the mobile site is the fact that they don't even open the post in the damn app. They take you straight to the frickin' _app store_! It's such awful design and utterly infuriating.

I always use

https://teddit.net

on desktop/mobile browser

There's also another decent mobile app "rif is fun for Reddit"

If you consume reddit on a read-only basis, projects like libreddit and teddit are great alternatives to consider. I have completely switched to libreddit two months ago and I am happy with the decision:

https://github.com/spikecodes/libreddit

It has a multi-reddit subscription functionality too, so it's easy to take a quick glance just at the content I need.

...How did I not think of this? Thank you for the recommendation!

You can also achieve the same mode by appending .compact to the URL.

Ex.:

https://reddit.com/r/asoiaf/.compact
