It’s interesting that Antidepressants rank so high and doesn’t even include the litany of psychoactive medication (Lithium/adhd meds/benzos). I could see that category easily being ranked #1.

I just don’t see that number ever going down.
I mean antidepressants don’t really rank that high in the grand scheme of things. They’re basically the rarest “common” ailment that people see a medical doctor for. Limping all mental illness together like you’re supposing makes as much sense as a category of “physical illness”.
Mental illness has such a weird stigma associated with it like it’s somehow represents the ales of modern society or something but blood pressure and acid reflux are just things that happen. I really hate the perception of antidepressants and stimulants for ADHD sufferers as “opiate of the masses” and not “look how many people have had their suffering gone untreated for so long and getting relief.”
its crazy how high in the list anti antidepressants are. In my case, I was diagnosed with hypogonadism. A simple prescription of testosterone cured my depression.
Makes me think how often people have been prescribed antidepressants when it could really be a hormonal problem.
