(finally typed up months later)
We can hear lots of crows[1], but they're out of view. Five kookaburras[2] came down to the balcony for the bacon rind Jo had put out, then moved over to brad's balcony next door. A pair of currawongs[3], both furtive and wary, one came down for any scraps left by the kookaburras. Looking around I could see some small birds, a New-holland honeyeater[[4] or two, then John spotted a female Satin bowerbird[5] on brad's roof, only down for a few minutes. Some discussion on what it was, I think there was a little disbelief until I pulled a bird book off the shelf and pointed out a picture
