A cold late afternoon bike ride, staying within my 5km lockdown limits, in fact reaching their extremeties to the north west and to the south east. Then back through the local shops to grab some ingredients needed for dinner. Late afternoon roosting noises; a thousand Common mynas[1] down by the warehouses in Huntingdale, Noisy miners[2] in the trees along the bike path in Clayton, a clattering of wings as I disturbed ten or twenty feral pigeons[2] down near the Oakleigh shopping malll and finally the shrieks and chattering as the Rainbow lorikeets[3] sorted themselves out for the night in their roosts up in the palm trees at Oakleigh station.
