Household chores in the afternoon, empty the teapot, take out the food scraps to the compost bin. Oh my, oh my! The entire underside of the compost bin lid is a solid mass of enormous slugs — Yellow Cellar slugs[1] as I found out from a query to inaturalist[2]. They're accompanied by hundreds of slaters, some worms, a couple of earwigs and a few other insects that I can't identify. I'm sure its a vibrant environment, but I wish there weren't quite so many of the big slugs in there!
