A meandering afternoon ride around to Mount Waverley and up through Valley Reserve -- a bushland park following a creek up the hill. Nothing much of note other than endless Noisy miners[1] calling from the scrub all around, but once out of the bush and up to the shops I sat at the traffic lights and watched at least ten swifts swooping around in the damp grey skies above me, chasing insects. Unsure exactly which they were, I'm going to cross my fingers and guess Fork-tailed swift -- oh, its called a Pacific swift[2]
