2020/1031/1530 — Karkarook park and south

Cold and windy and a revised daily ride plan, south to Karkarook park and then off exploring the gravel track further south then east. The lake in Karkarook park busy with Silver gulls[1], plenty of Black swans[2] & cygnets, Pukeko[3] and Dusky moorhens[4] with their respective chicks, and a first for me - a Great crested grebe[5] swimming around. Then off to explore the gravel track to the south then east nicely sheltered from the wind with small flocks of Goldfinch[6] and Red-browed finches[7] around together with New-holland honeyeaters[8] in every second grevillea, assorted pigeons and one frightened rabbit
