Huntingdale wetlands at the second last pond and a flash of white caught my eye, not the usual place to see the big white domestic duck that lives here, a royal spoonbill[1] wading around sieving the mud. Stood and watched for a while, took a few photos at extreme-phone-cam range and then left only to find another spoonbill in the next pond! Then at the bike-path Y-intersection before Atkinson street I met a pair of birdwatchers looking up into a tree and they pointed out the tawny frogmouth[2] sitting on its nest
