Miscellaneous possibly personal notes
======================================
I'm writing a few notes here that I wouldn't publish on my blog; I might
publish them on my phlog, if it weren't just a mirror of my blog. But I
can write them here and know that security through obscurity will keep
it within the port 1965 community. Nothing too terribly personal.
I'm sitting on my back porch, enjoying to cool air of the first real
autumn evening of the year. I'm listening to the Mount Kilimanjaro
Darkjazz Ensemble in appalling lo-fi from my laptop speakers, and I'm
trying to get enough water down me to deal with some persistent
low-level dehydration. I've got a ton of things I needed to do before
bed, and a few others I wanted to do, but I just don't honestly have the
spoons.
I'm a bit burnt out on computers right now; I've been lacking the oomph
to work on my side projects. Some of that is the deep reading I've been
doing, but some of it is just honestly a lack of pleasure. Tonight I'm
trying to find some pleasure in computing, by running Cool Retro Term
full screen and going through the Slow Computing I enjoy... catching up
on the phlogosphere, and on a private NNTP server. I'll also go through
the Geminiverse here in a bit to see if there's anything new to read.
I'd like to write a Moku Pona or Bongusta type of aggregator for Gemini,
but that's going to have to wait until I sort out my client library...
The client library is no fun right now because I have to deal with a bug
in the Python standard library for parsing URLs that doesn't understand
port numbers unless the protocol is http(s). I'm sure AV-98 handles this
and I can just copy out more of that code, but it's just demotivating.
