For what it's worth, I personally don't even think allowing git pushesover gemini is a good reason for modifying the protocol.  Git has it'sown application-level protocol that works perfectly for this kind ofthing.  Gemini is very close to _perfect_ for it's intended use: servingup primarily textual content to humans in a relatively secure butpleasantly simple way.  I really think it'd be tragic to compromise onthis for reasons that are tangential to the original goal.
