Half-fiction

'remember to observe but not act on any synchronous phenomena'

We were on a walk in a nearby forest with my friend. The weather was damp and wet: it had been raining during the night. The air fresh and cool.

There are some old caves from the early 1900's around here. They have been excavated by hand. All kinds of other fortifications remain, trenches as well.

So we decided to check up one cave that we had been through a few times.

At one part of the cave we noticed that there was a steel door at the end of a wall.

The wall was already impressive: it was carved to bare rock.

Some of these doors lead to old bunkers, and some are still used by the military to store who-knows-what.

My friend, who respects the law even less than I do decided to try the door.

To our surprise, the handle turned and the heavy steel door gave way.

'Holy shit! Maybe we should turn back right here?'

- 'Too late man. Let's go!'

We are somewhat paranoid, so we wedged the door open with some rocks and a piece of wood. We didn't want to get locked in.

There were small lights lining the corridor that was large enough for us to walk side by side, but no juice flowing to them.

Smartphones are useful, you know. Good flashlights.

'What the heck is this place?'

- 'I don't know. Let's be careful'

As we walked forward there was another door. This one was wide open already.
