Has anyone got in touch or created an issue to add gemini to this list?
While it defeats the purpose
of having a separate protocol and document format, it would be good to
make all the gemini:// links
work in Firefox.

I haven't, but I've come across this problem as well. Would it be possible for an add-on to just add "web+" to all <a> tags with href^=gemini:// ? Then define a protocol handler to web+gemini?
I was going to try this but my Javascript skills are sorely lacking.
