There's a much easier way to do it. Just add a space at the start.
```
```
```
But then you have a space at the start.
As for lines starting with a magic string, you can just put them inside
a preformatted block.
```
=
gemini://linky.mcgoo
```
But then it's a preformatted line, not a text line.
I'm holding out hope that the space after the ``` will be used for
great purpose for accessibility. I think that's a much more productive
direction than fringe cases of formatting.
Arguably. There are other ways to deal with this problem of quoting, if the one I suggested becomes unavailable.
I do think that one way or another, it should be possible to represent any text line and any preformatted line in a gemini document. Mostly for theoretical neatness, but also for practical purposes -- e.g. precisely quoting a gemini document.-------------- next part --------------A non-text attachment was scrubbed...Name: signature.ascType: application/pgp-signatureSize: 195 bytesDesc: not availableURL: <https://lists.orbitalfox.eu/archives/gemini/attachments/20200603/260cc1ef/attachment-0001.sig>
