you should not need any qt account to use the opensource edition.I'm not on windows so I can't check right now, but last time Iinstalled Qt Creator on win I just downloaded the installer and skippedany step regarding qt accounts. But things may have changed.
The client itself seems nice enough though,
and if they had pre-compiled builds I'd certainly use one of 'em.
