The whole main point of Unix philosophy is that the *creators of the software* save as much time as necessary and make things as simple for *themselves* as possible, and mainly at the expense of the user. When anyone tries to bring up the fact that Unix software is complicated or not intuitive, unix devs act arrogant by basically calling these users stupid. It takes nerve to say that simplicity matters more for programmers than it does for any other profession that may use software. No other field gets away with this disrespect for users as much as the programming field does, and it's only because users don't know any better. Well... actually, there's also marketers. Users are starting to catch up though, and when they all do, these programmers are going to have a big reality and ego check.
