Today I discovered something fantasic: I can have a google account without a gmail account.
I use fastmail for my personal email. It works great, but I had to tell people to share Google Docs to my old gmail account. Now, I can just tell people to share Google Docs to my personal email (hosted by gmail), which is registered with google.
