Misc 1

Posted at 2020-07-27

Haven't posted for a couple of days, missed me? Let's see what happened.

I created a userpage on Transjovian Council.

Acdw answered my quick note about their dot-spacing style with a cool article.

Then left_adjoint replied to acdw.

And some other interesting posts appeared. Just read the spacewalk like I do :) Now, onto the stories about me.

Rain

So I was planning to play some Magic: the Gatheringâ„¢ at my local game store this Sunday. Or should I say that Sunday? I have no idea. It was 2020-07-26, anyway. I was getting ready to leave and then dad called me:

Hey, you awake? (It was quite early, 12:13) I really need you to help me take photographs of some things on the roof. What, you are busy? Well, not anymore! I'll come in 20 minutes.

And he really did. Okay, Magic, another day.

Turned out, he needed to take some photos for his work. We had to do it on the roof because sun light is the best source of light because the rays are almost parallel; it cannot be done using artificial light sources. Sounds reasonable.

Transporting things to the roof was not easy but we managed to do this. Then dad found out his camera's battery was dead. Also, there wasn't any charger nearby. I recommended him to buy a new charged battery. That's exactly what he decided to do. I was left to guard the things.

While doing my guard activities (scrolling through Telegram chats, basically), I received a call from guess who. He told me that the rain is coming, gotta move the things back. Okay, sure, nothing difficult here /s.

In the end, there was quite a rain and we didn't take any photos. And I also didn't play Magic: the Gatheringâ„¢. What a sad story.

The copper wire

Sometimes a funny thought visits me and I devote myself to it. That's exactly what happened at 0:56 one night.

Hey, what if I untangle that tangle of copper wire that has been tangled for at least 10 years already and is so hard to untangle that it would take me hours? And do it in pure darkness? And then make a cobweb like a spider?

That's exactly what I started to do. I took the tangle and started untangling it while seating on the floor in a dark room. No eyes used here, right. I think I advanced quite well. I was doing for a little more than an hour.

Next day I finished untangling it and moved on to the spider part. Turned out, I'm a bad spider and my cobweb is a poor sight. I destroyed the wire so no one sees it. Overall, it took me around 6 hours.

Other things

I decided to rewrite MycorrhizaWiki from scratch because I noticed I forgot what I've been developing it for and started doing things I didn't I need. You know, fancy architechture, plugins, etc. Gotta return to that today or tomorrow. The new version of MycorrhizaWiki uses gemtext as the main markup language, by the way.

Also, I recently started watching ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’. A good show, actually. I like how it cosplays anime and still feels like an american cartoon while using epic Chinese choreography and stuff. And the lore is great! Reminds me of ‘The Wheel of Time’.
