After spending years developing a (minimal) web presence under my own name as a canonical version of "myself" on the net I find myself reluctant to be too candid with more mundane aspects of my life or with those things that lack polish. Knowing that my boss will probably read what I post to a weblog has a chilling effect, even if what I'm writing isn't particularly interesting.
It is a nice reprieve to be in Gemini-space (or NQ2 as acdw has called it¹), where it feels more like talking to real people (or even friends).
I can't do much to change my own interests, so I'll likely do a good deal of writing about computers and technology. I've already sent a number of small patches to a few people in Gemini-space for adjacent software, I'll probably write about those in the future. I'm Emacs-enthusiastic so if you've got elisp questions I'm happy to try digging in and helping out:
More generally I'd like to develop better writing habits and technique. I can muddle my way through but I'd really like to reach a level of polish in better time and the only way to improve is to practice.
