2020-05-30 Writing practice is working

I've had a few days off from writing a #100DaysToOffload blog post lately. My work days in the past week have involved writing and editing documentation for our main project. I usually do my blog posts in the evening, but my brain has been written out by then!

Though I haven't been feeling like blogging I have noticed the benefits of #100DaysToOffload as I've been doing this documentation work:

Having been in a pattern of writing regularly for a couple of weeks, it's easier to sit down and start getting words down when needed for work. Procrastination is a lot less tempting.
I'm faster at getting a first round of words on the page (or screen). It's surprising how much easier it seems after only around two weeks of blog posts.
Typos, grammar issues, etc. seem reduced in first drafts. They are quicker to edit too, as I'm more familiar with the things I mess up often and need to watch out for. I'm a little surprised by this as
I've not spent a great deal of time proof-reading or drafting and re-drafting these blog posts. They are written and posted pretty quickly.

Hoping to get back on the wagon now and make it to 40 posts by the end of June.

There'll probably be quite a bit of NetBSD content appearing, as I've been enjoying playing with that in my spare time recently.
