I have not added much public-facing content to my capsule in the last two weeks, but that doesn't mean I haven't been using Gemini heavily. Over the last two weeks I've focused on changing my daily habits to focus on my to-do list. My primary method of interacting with my to-do list is my own todo.txt over Gemini service, which handles repeating tasks better than the standard todo.txt-cli.
Renewing my focus on my to-do list has made a huge difference for me. I'm completing chores around the house that I had left to sit for weeks. I'm exercising more regularly than I did in the thick of winter. I'm updating my calendar more regularly and am keeping track of appointments better. As a result of all this, I finish each day feeling good about the tasks I've finished--which has improved my mood, even when I don't relax as much as I'd like.
My weight in particular is beginning to improve. When I last checked on 2024-03-10, I weighed 226.8 lbs, or just under 100 kg. I decided to set a goal for the week: when I next stepped on the scale, I wanted to see 225, or a difference of at least 1 pound. Instead, I weighed in yesterday at 224.4, meaning I had lost 2.4 pounds! I doubt that pace will be sustainable, so my goal for next week is to hit 223.0, which means losing at least 1.4 pounds.

On one of my evening walks, I came across an old tree with a sagging branch. Years of love from the locals--or abuse, depending on one's viewpoint--have left the tree requiring some support. The sign reads: "Please do not climb on ME. I am old. That is why I have a crutch. If they see you climbing on ME, they will cut off my arm. So please, no climbing... but hugs are okay."

This week a powerful storm system hit the region. We avoided the worst of the hail and high winds, but we still saw quite a bit of lightning. I wanted to take a photo of the bolts, which was surprisingly hard to do. This was the best shot I could manage.
