I found myself in a funk, so to speak, for much of last month. A freak cold front slammed the area and sent temperatures plummeting into the negatives Fahrenheit. A friend came to visit, and while our time with him was fun, I couldn't relax the way I normally would. This was combined with work pressures and my wife beginning her next semester of classes. It was difficult to find chances to decompress the way I like to: exercise, socializing, and engaging in tech hobbies.
This month I'm trying to adjust the time balance between my responsibilities and relaxing activities. The American Midwest is still in the middle of winter, but milder temperatures last week have spurred me to spend more time outdoors. I spent some time recently diving into Kermit, discovering on the way that it can be used to browse Gemini and giving me some ideas about how I could use it in my home network. Overall I feel mysdelf becoming less stressed, though I also think I still have a long way to go.
Whwn my grandmother moved out of her apartment several years ago, I received an Olivetti Underwood Studio 45 typewriter. Last week I took the typewriter out of the closet and set it up on my desk. It only needs a new ink ribbon and is otherwise in fantastic condition. I hope to practice typing on it soon.

After a rough few weeks with busy work shifts and freezing temperatures, I had a chance to get out and visit a park in the city. The weather was beautiful, the melting snow revealed still-green grass underneath, and the sidewalks and trails were packed with walkers. I caught this shot of a pond in the park when relatively few people were nearby.
