This card pertains to a resource available on the internet.

Involves packaging software in a special format which is then hosted on web servers.

An "AppFS" daemon is used on client machines. This creates a particular directory, via FUSE mounts, which actually downloads those applications from the servers in the background. Downloads are then cached so the software is only downloaded on first use or updates.

Rather than installing software you simply try to use it from a given directory; the packages are installed transparently when accessing a file from the package.
