A friend had a not quite comparable experience (downsizing with slight notice) and offered her dining table to me free - I forced some cash on her anyway, and told her to let me know if she moves again and I'll "sell" it back. Any chance anybody in your extended circles might want it? Sometimes better if you give it a super-lowball price ($50) because then they feel proud of themselves instead of awkward about it.
