@futurebird A sad loss indeed, though I'm glad of the prompt to review my shelves for fond memories (pictured - the others are around somewhere - they migrate). The Bridge was my favourite of his back in the day, though it's a long time since I read it. I'm from Edinburgh, which lends it an extra resonance, I think.
Excession is the only one I've come back to so far, though I'm sure many are worth a second reading (I daren't start a third reading for fear current events have rendered The Affront reasonable in comparison). The audiobooks are well narrated? I'm going through the middle-age eyesight deterioration thing at the moment and lack the right glasses to read print books comfortably, so that might be a good way to renew my acquaintance with those worlds.

the audiobooks are pretty good. I like to go for a long walk and listen to a book.
