I understand why so much open source happens on GitHub (it is free after all) but given how Microsoft has bought themselves into basically all modern tech tool chains this should make people very uncomfortable.

@tante it is insane how deep this goes. I teach git (*not* GitHub, I even make it a point to talk about the distinction!)
And students routinely create GitHub accounts, even though we use our [β¦]
@tante I think I saw someone working on a feature for #Gitlab to allow filing a merge request from one instance to another. I can't remember where I saw it though... Any chance you might have [β¦]

@tante i donβt understand your problem, isnβt it just convenient if you develop using vscode to push to github to deploy on azure and ask bing or copilot when there is an issue? best of all [β¦]
