The so-called "fairlyflies" (better named "fairy wasps") are the smallest insects in the world. Some of them are smaller than the larger amoebas! They are a member of the storied order of the Hymenoptera which also includes sawflies, bees and ants. So, learning all about this group of tiny creatures is obviously a good use of your time.
Anything this closely related to ants is kind of awesome by default.
