Okay, so "in parallel" means it's a fail-over contingency, right? Like a redundant backup?
So, in fact, yeah, it helps, because it has a 75% chance of working when engaged, which happens in the 20% chance the 80% system fails, right?
So, ignoring the reliability of the fail-over mechanism, you should bring things up from 80% to 95%, right? (In practice, the fail-over can fail).
Leon is wrong, of course, because adding any new potential failure mode degrades the system.
