The thing about slavery is that it has always gone on, and often within the same ethnic groups. The Irish enslaved fellow Irish. Different groups of Africans captured and sold others to the European slave traders. It was money. Chinese have enslaved each other for centuries. Romans, Turks and Huns enslaved anyone. We are such an illogical, harsh species.
