systemd-logind manages interactive user logins. It implements switching between multiple parallel login sessions of different users.
One key facet of switching between users is that when a sessions moves to the bg its access to the screen, the mouse and the kbd is suspended too, so that it cannot possible interfere with the session now in the fg, and spy on its input or its screen.
