You also no doubt have seen that UHC has a policy of rejecting a minimum of 30% of all claims, covered or not, for all long as possible. People have died because of this.
Aetna is doing the same thing to my partner. She's a heart patient. They have a cut-our company called Evicore (you've probably seen a news article about those fuckers recently) that does the same thing.
They told my partner's cardiologist that she isn't a heart patient, has no history of heart problems, and thus will cover none of the ongoing maintenance care and monitoring that she's been getting for five or six years. To say that her cardiologist was shocked by this revelation is putting it mildly.
I've been fighting this all goddamn year. Multiple days a week.
You think I'm going to be upset because am insurance company exec got ganked? Hell, no. I am, to be blunt, rather pleased at this turn of events.
Maybe now they'll know what it's like to live in fear. My partner and I do.
