They could have decided to copy the pi400 design, but they didn't.
They could have used this chance to pass it over i2c or spi to free up a usb slot, but they didn't.
They could have chosen to maintain the price with all the cost cutting that took place, but they didn't.
And keyd exists for remapping in the kernel.
