This morning, I went to a local municipal court & then the county jail to interpret a hearing to explain the conditions of release for an inmate. The hearing officer and I got to the jail but were delayed nearly an hour.
When we were finally let back to meet our inmate, we were told what caused the delay. A woman inmate transferring in had, in the very eloquent words of the jailer who led us back, βa whole-ass iPhone in her prison purse.β
Yes, that means what you think it means.
Friends and neighbors, she had transferred directly from a FEDERAL PRISON.

@adhdeanasl
I'm just going to come back to this topic later.
No.
No I'm not.
@adhdeanasl This is a story about how phones these days have gotten too big and inconvenient for common usage.

I forgot the best part of the story. Friends and neighbors, WE SAW THE PHONE. It was in a small plastic tote. The jailer said βoh, donβt touch that.β We did not touch that.
@adhdeanasl And we thought we were addicted to our phones. Wow!
@adhdeanasl oh my.
@adhdeanasl
P...purssy?
@adhdeanasl
I feel uncomfortable right now.
@adhdeanasl I mean, I could manage a wee old Nokia maybe, but an iPhone? Ouch.
