At this moment in time it is true to say that the majority of the texts held
by the Oxford Text Archive are not available for downloading via an
anonymous ftp service. At present only a few dictionaries and a couple
of texts are available. The Archive *is* however committed to a policy
of making as many public domain texts available in SGML format as it
can. In the next couple of months the number of texts available via
anonymous ftp will have greatly increased. 

For those who can't wait for their particular texts to become available
in this manner we have been operating a system in the last year whereby
you can have any text listed in our catalogue (subject to the normal
restrictions) sent to you free of charge via the InterNet. All we
require is a hard copy of our order form, signed and listing the texts
required; you must also provide *us* with a secure InterNet address to
which only you have access and the password for the account. This is
described in more detail in the our information file 'Textarchive.info' 
which can be dowloaded from a number of anonymous sites.
