open source midi controller with 32 potentiometers
this is my first journey into custom hardware design. i wanted a controller that could be used with VCV Rack to tweak parameters of my patches without having to look at a screen.
it has a bay of 16 knobs that can be mapped to any parameter that can be controlled by midi (basically everything in VCV Rack), and a bay of eight slide potentiometers topped with eight knobs to recreate a mixing board style of controller.
i designed the PCB with KiCad, which is open source software favored by a large segment of the community.
i use two multiplexer breakout boards to wire the two bays of 16 potentiometers to two of the analog inputs on a Pro Micro.
