Electric Batteries = Death

Electric Batteries are not an energy source. They are an imperfect energy storage device with a heavy ecological cost.

Come on, greenies, wake up. Factories producing electric car batteries are not a good thing. Subsidies for that cunt Musk are not a good thing. Government-sponsored electric car leases are a terrible idea.

Electric cars with giant lithium (and a shitton of other metals) batteries do not reduce our energy use. They put an extra load on the existing infrastructure, and because they are far from 100%-efficent, contribute to the pollution and waste. Batteries suck electricity out of the grid (which is often not so green), and deliver some of it to the motor. Pollution is moved to the poor part of town while cashed-up bogans pretend to be green.

Mining operations, extracting lithium, cobalt, and rare earth metals, pollute more than you can imagine, and are more than likely manned by slave labor. Electric car factories leave mountains of polluted soil, water, and air behind every car that leaves the line.

Our only hope is to stop consuming (and therefore 'economic expansion'). No driving except for emergencies. Beef up railways and public transit, and leave the roads exclusively for local deliveries and absolute necessities. Stop the space nonsense. Stop buying new cars, even if they are more efficient (if you believe the salesmen). There is nothing more horrible than a ton of rusting metals and plastic in the dump.

Anything else is completely insane.

Buying a new Tesla does not make you green. It makes you an asshole. If you really care, get a (used) bicycle and stop eating meat.
