Dr. Frederick G. Berlinger built a house in what he thought was Polk County, N.C. The clarified [state] line puts most of the house in South Carolina. Some of it, apparently, was always there.

I knew there were disputes over state boundaries throughout our history (such as the Walton War [3] that took place in current day Tran sylvania County [4]; and here's another article [5] about it that contains a map of the area under question). But I didn't realize that there were still issues with state boundaries today.
