Creating and installing a new server takes less time than configuring email

I don't remember email being this hard to set up, but given all the anti-spam measures and firewalls, it's become quite the nightmare to troubleshoot. I've spent several hours now configuring a new workstation (we're close to going all virtual office here at The Office, and my current workstation, slow behemoth that it is, is slated for retirement) and getting all the servers to send root mail [1] to my new workstation (to maintain tabs on cron jobs, email problems, log file summaries, what not) is … interesting.

Sigh.
