Yes. The sidebar links are gone and that's what people were angry about.

I'll ask you the same question I asked Flytape:

What do you have to add to that subreddit? What can you offer as a moderator that will add to the overall feel and community of /r/xkcd?

At nearly the precise moment Flytape was reassuring people in a modpost that the inappropriate sidebar links were gone, they were quietly re-added to the sidebar disguised as appropriate links. Yes, they're gone now, but soccer simply cannot be trusted to not re-add them in the future.

My view is somewhat different that many in this subreddit; I believe every one of soccer's pet subs has a right to exist, a right to discuss what they believe, and in many cases to make legitimate points (particularly in the mostly innocuous mensrights, which is really getting unfairly raked over the coals in this mess.)

The problem is that when those links are forced upon communities that they're not suited for, you invite the type of backlash that you're seeing. This drama's not only bad for /r/xkcd, it's also bad for /r/mensrights, /r/theredpill, /r/conspiracy, and any other niche subreddits that get linked but have no business being associated with xkcd. **Soccer is hurting everyone** with this nonsense, and if he cannot be relieved of his mod position then it's time to migrate the community.
