This has go to be by far the best episode of vikings. It had everything. The feels, plot twist, floki going crazier than usual, Bjorn nearly dying, Rollo being a beast. The ending was perfect too, we are shown why Ragnar decided to let floki lead the raid and his conversation with Athelstan was very emotional and left us with many questions for the coming episodes.

"If i was him i'd worry less about the gods and more about the fury of a patient man" Ragnar is such a badass.

Worst thing about this episode were the French Accents. Other than that def the best episode this season. Though that isn't saying much.

Does anyone know what the masks Charles and Gisla sometimes wear symbolise? Are they some religious symbol?

I'm on the other end, i think this one was kinda meh.

Cons:

-Floki hiding in the siege tower was out of character, he was always eager to face harm and danger. He never fears death. Now he does? He was always insane, this "Floki goes mad" storyline is BS.

-Lack of Ecbert. The king of Wessex carries a lot of this show, him not being in an episode hurts it a lot.

-Oh Björn is dead. Oh wait not. Oh he's awake and holds a discussion like he's not even suffering at all. Plot armor so strong.

-Kalf/Lagertha storyline. No. Just no. She's only around because she's popular, she doesn't bring anything to the story since s02e01. Yes i like her too, but the story around her is way too forced since her 2nd marriage.

-The whole siege tower part was very bad for me. Björn/Rollo etc. standng at the bottom of the tower and just sending people up was such a turn off. Then they go up at the end for a little bit of fanservice, and they all get down, and they all survive.

-Most French characters are mediocre so far.

-The viking army looked like it was recruited from all those horrible english fighters who we saw the last seasons. These are not the northmen i'm used to.

Pros:

-Ragnar was great as always.

-Rollo had a few good scenes.

-Princess Gisla with the whole rallying and saving the walls was quite fun.

-The gate siege was very good, 10/10.

Vikings is currently my favourite show because of the usual great acting and great drama it brings. An almost an episode long battle with fail tactics/horrible decisions/plot armor does not amaze me at all.

6/10

I found it a little anti-climatic. It spent half the season building up to a badass siege of Paris and it was less a battle than it was a massacre.

I loved the sheer scale of it all. In all other episodes the Viking army is always seen as a 100 warriors, max. This episode with the view of all the ladders coming to the wall was amazing, finally a real army.

What? Just watched it and it's such a stupid episode - nothing makes sense...

- Bjorn waws literally dead - open eyes, 2 arrows inside, but then suddenly he is alive and talking to his father no problem

- Bjorn, Rollo, Ragnar, Floki are always the first ones going into battle, but now they are suddenly not going in till the last moment and are just pushing others to go?

- Nobody was weirded out by the fact that Ragnar sails to France with his whole army, without any plan on how to attack and just says "Floki, figure it out" even though before that it looks like all he's doing is planning the attack

- This whole attack was some kind of revenge on Floki? So Ragnar kills god knows how many of his people including almost his son, just to teach Floki a lesson? wtf

Make it make sense for me please lol (no spoilers though, I'm watching for the first time)

AND THANK GOD WERE GETTING REVENGE IN FLOKI!!!! I hate that guy for killing Athelstan and I'm so happy that he's getting what he deserves
