Hola,

I am trying to connect with someone I met on an app before I arrive in the city. They have sent me their contact information but I’m not sure how the phone numbers workin Uruguay (I have lived only in the US). My picture is attached — how do I use this phone number? On WhatsApp? Is this a Uruguayan phone number? This person has requested my professional services to take photos of their farm to sell it. Please let me know if you think this is a normal phone number and if they seem to be a legit person.

For privacy purposes I have blurred out the full number but it is like this: 092 ___ ___ there are 3 numbers in each line.

if the number is 092 4XXXXX

you should save it as +598 92 4XXXXX

If you're in Uruguay on an uruguayan network, just use the nuumber as is. Otherwise add "+598" and remove the first 0.

The number is correct, you can just add it to WhatsApp following Uruguay's country code (+598).

That being said, seems weird that someone would contact someone from the US to take pictures of a farm, since there are plenty of drone photo services here. Also Veronique seems an odd name for someone from Uruguay, unless that's your name. Or they can also be foreigners with property here.

You have to add +598 before the number and ignore the 0. So it will be +59892______
