This reminds me of Peep Show where everyone keeps trying to get each other sectioned.

“In October 2024, the United Kingdom (UK) had a trade surplus of $1.68 billion with the United States (US). This was due to the US exporting $7.65 billion to the UK, while the UK exported $5.97 billion to the US.”

…So, how are we bad? We literally have a trade deficit with the US.

Trump is acting like a typical school bully, pathetic really. Can't believe there are people in the UK who like the oranged faced idiot.

Fuck this guys deal, we should just rekindle the CANZUK alliance and work closer with the EU. Isolate America completely, let them find out after this man has fucked around.

The scary thing is, if you read some of the stuff his followers post, they actually want him and the US to be a bully. It’s literally their world view sadly.

Britain rejects rambling, dementia-ridden nonsense spouted by America's favourite rapist.

Non clickbait headline:

Trump has said he “might” hit Britain with tariffs as he warned the US will impose levies on imports from the European Union “pretty soon”.
He hinted, though, that a deal could be struck with the UK to avoid or limit tariffs.

Trump doing Putins work, while challenging his inner Liz Truss. I can see this ending just great for him.

It's pretty simple. America under Trump needs to be treated as a hostile power when being dealt with, similar to China or Russia. Every deal must be in the UKs interest, with UK interests put first and taking a hard stance against deals that do not respect us or our country. America is not going to deal in good faith and should be assumed that going forward it won't do so.

We literally sent troops to die for the states in 3 wars now, the idea that we're "out of line" and deserve unilateral tariffs for........ reasons(???)(???????) is laughable.

Brexiters have put us in such a weak position.

We have no choice but to grovel with the US and basically become a state of theirs.... Because they didn't want to be an equal partner in the EU

I love the general disagreement in here, but I hope I am not bothering when I ask this:

Please write to your MPs if you are unhappy about the UK considering trading with the US. Canada and Mexico just got hurt by their greatest ally and it’s likely going to happen with you as well.

One of the biggest mistakes that happened is a lot of people in the US were complacent. People from a certain side on the political spectrum are loud. We can’t change the outcome of the election, but I urge you to please voice your opinion about this to your MPs if it’s not done already. You guys need to be louder.

I say that so you guys can avoid the same pain we are going through. Sorry if I am bothering when I ask this.

He said we're not taking cars. Have you seen how many Fords are on our roads? Versus not many British cars in America.

UK wants strong trade ties with america. Lmao.

Are you unaware of what’s going on? Canada has strong trade ties with a trade pack. Trump is ignoring it and coming up with BS reasons for tariffs.

You think the UK will be different? trump cannot be trusted. You’re better off with the EU.

Britain has to recognise that it is the end of the special relationship between the two countries.

Bullies like Trump only recognise strength. The USA is no longer a true friend and ally of the UK.

Chump misrepresents tariffs as taxes on foreign trade partners, and trade imbalances as trading partners being "subsidised" because his economically illiterate base has to be motivated to hate those foreigners, and support whatever insane policies he proposes to damage them.

Perhaps the EU and Canada should jointly declare 50% tariffs on US goods. The orange ape will otherwise try to divide and conquer.

If everyone else has tarrifs and we don't surely that will make our exporters competitive again. Of course I don't agree with what Trump is doing
