I have some old hp laptop that i wanted Microsoft 365 with, i tried installing it and it was taking forever and at around 9 percent it just switched off and i have no idea why i tried to boot it back up it got to the sign in saying "welcome" then switched off, k tried yet again buttt it put me to recovery i tried basically everything, there used to be a restore point that is somehow no longer there, commands to scan files doesnt work, i haven't tried to downgrade beacause i dont think i did an update. Now it sometimes starts and goes to windows where i can do ot as i normally would but after a few minutes it dies agian. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First, I'm assuming you're doing this while plugged in. It also matters if it's W10 or W11, as it hints at the age of your laptop. It seems you need to do a clean reinstall of Windows with bootable media (usb drive, external hard drive). Since it would be clean, you could even use someone else's bootable media. But that could cause a product key issue. This problem could have been caused by too little memory or storage available on your laptop to install MS365.

Windows will automatically go to recovery mode after 3 failed boot attempts so I wouldn't worry too much about that, sounds like a battery issue tbh, is it plugged into the mains?
