I don’t see this as controversial tbh. There’s obviously more pressure on the police department to solve high profile murders, public opinion (i.e. the bosses opinion, from a point of view) is made or lost on the cases everyone’s watching.

Sure, see I could understand allocating more resources than normal. But I’ve been following this debacle by the hour since it’s started. NYPD repeatedly emphasises how much man power and effort they’re spending to dig through the enormous amount of tips and camera footage to get any kind of lead on this guy. They make it seem exponential to a point which seems fucked up compared to what they’d do for the normal person.
