I’m surprised no one on here is talking about how bad the Daiso grand opening experience was. I can’t believe people were waiting 3 hours to get into the store and 4 hours in checkout.

Was there panic at the Daiso?

Daiso just opened. Meaning they will be there for a little bit. I don't understand the fuss of gtg to a store as soon as it opens or for its grand opening, unless they were offering free stuff... so, relax. The store will still be there in a few months when the crowd dies down

For someone who has been living under a rock , can you explain what they are ? Their website merely says “all your household needs”…. Is it a Japanese dollar store , a Five Below , a grocery store , or is it merely filled with everything ever made with Hello Kitty on it ?

Why was it chaotic? Wouldn’t you expect a grand opening to have long lines?

Rofl, I’m not desperate enough yet to wait hours and hours for a $30 bag from a home goods store.

Chaotic as in….? Shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone…. It’s a store. Any grand opening will have ultra long lines and wait times. Daiso is all over social media and is very popular. Long lines are expected, especially when there is a freebie involved for the first 100 checkouts. Not to mention that it’s a fun, new store in the area and not in Orlando, of course people are going to flock to it.

I had been waiting for this store for YEARS to come to Tampa, been tracking its opening since it was announced, and I couldn't even enter when I went yesterday because I barely moved one pole to the next in 35 minutes😭😭 We ended up leaving!!! I'm not surprised about the lines though. It's the first ever location in FLORIDA, and it's one of the best stores I've ever been to! I went to 2 locations in San Francisco back in 2022 and I couldn't stop thinking about the store!!

I'm not schocked. Seeing all the cool stores in Japan made me wish they had cool places like that in America...apparently I'm not alone on this. I'll check it out once hype dies down.

I went with a friend at like 5 and it took us 45 mins to get in and an hour to check out after shopping. But I heard it was horrific for people who showed up early (presumably to get the free gift).
With all due respect, it’s really not that surprising that it was so busy and chaotic.

I was shocked yesterday too. Because I had heard zero news about the opening my daughter and I attempted to go last night around 6 and a line was to Ulta. We are leaving in a few minutes to try again this morning. I am going to bring a book and a snack this time…lol!

I was there for 4 hours yesterday. Apparently there were 1,000 at the opening and the fire department was called. They started letting 50 people in the store every 40-50 minutes.

Ok, update:
Just drove past Daiso... The line was long, up to Sports Clip. Asked my son if he wants to go see what's in Daiso. He said we could. Then I told him about the line, and he looked at me like I'm crazy. I said some people have to wait 2 hours or more to get in. And he scowled and told me, let's just go home. We can go when people don't go anymore... lol

Walked in and immediately walked out. I’ll try again in a few weeks 😅

I drove by around 11am and saw the line. We were going to join it but with my husband’s back having an off day, we decided against it. Reading your post makes me think we made the right decision.

Thanks for this post! I was planning to go see it today, but decided to wait a few weeks instead.

Looked over their stuff and many items you could have gotten at other stores for same prices. Heck been going to MD oriental and oceanic for snacks plus food for decades.

I was a little upset with the place. Waited 2 hours to get in and no one Hello Titty could be found.
