Hey! I’m new(ish) to the Tampa Bay area and was wondering what were some good seafood restaurants. Ive been to Ulele and Mr. & Mrs. Crab so far and both we’re pretty good.

Crab Shack. It's on Gandy on the St. Pete side. It's not a Joe's Crab Shack, it's a literal shack. The Red Snapper Corvina is so good, Gator tail butchered in house, the house made Cole slaw and potato salad... Awesome.

I personally love the Swamp platter. Frog legs, catfish, and gator bites on a bed of New Orleans rice.

Obligatory big Ray's fish camp. Definitely a dive, but probably the best fish sandwich I've ever had

I dig Frenchy’s. Good grouper nuggets too.

If you find yourself in S. St. Beach, Caddy’s used to be good. I have no idea right now, been a few years.

I would head closer to the beach for better seafood places or St. Pete. Anna Maria Island has a couple of my favs. The Beach House and Sandbar. They are owned by the same family/restaurant group..whatever it is called these days. I find in Tampa, that the more established places has one or two great seafood dishes. Also, Ricks on the River has one of the best fish sandwiches in tampa..or at least it is one of my fav. the Shrimp is good as well. I am not an oyster fan but i've heard theirs is good. I'm still learning I'm newer to Tampa and don't go out much..but don't be afraid to go to what looks like dive places. you will find they have some great food. I do find Tampa is getting trendy with restaurants and a lot of new IT places to go. I'm not saying they are bad but you will pay a premium if that is what you are looking to enjoy at least this is my opinion so take it how you want.

Oystercatchers is hidden gem in Tampa, tucked behind the grand Hyatt on rocky point..food is on point, they have a beach area, dock, and sunset views!

Mr and mrs crab is really good, ricks on the river is a bit of a dive but the po boy was delicious, and while not exclusively seafood, the gator ribs and smoked mullet at skippers is phenomenal

Not in Tampa, but Tarpon Springs - Rusty Bellies. They have their own fishing boats and a fish house.

Ulele is not known as a seafood place. You need to go to Greek area/docks or Clearwater/Sarasota to get good seafood.
