Seems a lot of people lack the real world experience of lane splitting and that it saves lives.

It seems more like council member Craig Hosmer is more directing his anger or aggression at something he doesn't like or understand.

At what point do we stop puting these old ass idiots into office who turn our cities and governments into dystopian cesspools because they interject their personal feelings into politics rather than doing research and presenting good data.

Additionally curious as to how law enforcement feels about this law and the topic in general.

We've got a lot of pain to go through as a country before we'll have a chance at a reckoning of the politicians we keep electing on the right and left.

Not law enforcement, but as for lane splitting that's on you. You're not hurting me, so lane split all you want as long as my side mirrors are still attached after you do.

Lane splitting is only good for motorcycles. to everyone else on the road its an entitled jerk cutting into your stopping distance and brake checking you

try jumping spots in line for a movie and see what happens. But you expect us to let you do that in the middle of Road Rage?

Seems a lot of motorcycle riders think they are the only ppl on the road

I think this is the video I’m looking for that explains why lane splitting is a good thing for everyone https://youtu.be/dEo1bjhGOgE

If it’s not the right one I’ll edit it later. But essentially, lane splitting rids the roads of a lot of traffic that otherwise is wasting a lot of space. Forcing motorcyclists to use the lanes like a car results in more traffic and longer travel times, admittedly marginal but less traffic is a good thing. Far more economical than not.

People’s aggravation with lane splitting is an issue with their perception of “fairness” more than safety. There are unsafe ways and times to lane split, but lane splitting is not inherently more dangerous than riding around town. Whereas people get their egos hurt when they’re stuck in traffic while others don’t have to be. There’s an unnecessary amount of anger with cyclists and motorcyclists for being able to do things that cars cannot. Probably the best to get over the feeling of unfairness and see the benefits for everyone on the road
